Mechanical Engineering is based on sciences of mathematics, and physics principally. The motion of machine members is goal of study of mechanical engineer, for exemple. On the other side, really, mechanical engineering is a large field finding application in virtually all industries and manufactured products.
The mechanical engineer applies principles of mechanics, dynamics, and energy transfer to the design, analysis, testing, and manufacutre consumer and industrial products too. A mechanical engineer usually has specialized knowledge in areas such as thermodynamics, control systems, materials, fluid dynamics, manufacturing methods, environment problems, and human factors.
As applications of mechanical engineering aim design of machines used in the manufacturing and processing industries, mechanical components of electronic and computers, components and vehicles for land, sea, air, and space, and artificial components for human body.
Mechanical engineers work throughout the engineering community as individual consultants in small firms providing specialized products or services, in engineering and management in large corporation, and government agencies. A mechanical engineer with spacialization in power systems and thermal design is concerned with energy utilization and thernal environment control (engines, turbines, power plants) and their components is a major activity.
Thermal environment control requires the design of thermal control systems having heat eschange, heat pumps, heat pipes, and ablation heat shields.
Cryogenics, vacuum thecnology, and solar thermal energy are ither areas in which a mechanical engineer contributes too.
